Robustness of Calibration method of AMS according to EN 14181.
AIMS of the STUDY
The prime objective of this study was to check the robustness of the QAL2 according to conditions' of tests met on site. Various situations on site were reproduced:
- Case A: Ideal conditions with 20 concentrations varying on all the range 0-VLEj
- Case B: 10 concentrations varying on all the range 0-VLEj
- Case C: 10 points varying on 50% of the range 0-VLEj.
- Case D: cloud of 5 points to which is added or not the point zero
1. D1: low concentrations,
2. D2: high concentrations. For each case D1 and D2, the calibration lines obtained with or without the zero are compared.
3. D3, the 5 points are uniformly distributed on all the range of measurement.
From the results, it was given in which configuration of site (possibility of varying the concentrations on site or not) it is advised to reduce the number of couples of points or to substitute to the method of calibration by comparison with the SRM, .a simple calibration by reference materials.
The second objective of the study was to calculate the uncertainty attached to a result of measurement given by an AMS calibrated according to QAL2; several campaigns were organized with, for each campaign: five accredited laboratories implementing QAL2 simultaneously on the same AMS. A comparison with the uncertainty of the AMS calculated through QAL1 procedure was also calculated
The presentation will give the main results of this study.
